Moisture Is the Key to Healthy Skin for Children

image of waterThere are many forums and discussions, articles and videos, books and lectures that you can find on the subject of children and how to keep their skin healthy.  Even my own pediatrician has offered a myriad solutions.  What it really boils down to is a consistent effort by both parent and child to prevent dehydration an d maintain skin moisture.  Hydration must happen on the inside and on the outside as well.  Children must drink water, and they must moisturize skin.

If you live in an area where winter weather means indoor heating, you will really need to moisturize the air to counteract the drying effect from your home’s heating system.  Also remember to use an air filter to capture as many particles of dust and other irritants that can be blown around from heating ducts.  These are some simple and natural preventative steps to maintaining our children’s healthy skin moisturization.  However, it does not end there…we must do more.

Why is Skin So Important?
