Juicing for Optimum Health
Many of us are already practicing the hugely nutritional act of juicing
which has been gaining quite a bit of popularity over the years.
A big pat on the back for those of you who are and “let’s get started!” to
those of you who are thinking about it.
Juicing has actually been around since biblical times where fruit and
vegetables were made into beverages by the island people.
With advancements in technology, juicing has now been made much easier,
faster, tastier and also more beneficial with an array of great juicers out
there who’s promise is to keep as many of the fruit and vegetables enzymes
intact, which in turn help our body’s digestive systems.
A lot of the great juicers on today’s market not only promote nutrition but
are also very easy to use, are very quiet and easy to clean with many units
taking less then a minute. Now you can’t say no to that!
Juicing is a great way to start the day and the combinations are endless.
Certain fruits and vegetables of course may taste better together and others
can be geared towards particular health issues, ie inflammation:
Vitamins and antioxidants found in oranges, berries and carrots are great
for inflammation, as well the enzyme “bromelain” found in pineapple is a
natural anti-inflammatory agent, just to name a few!
Some Reasons/ Benefits of Juicing:
*Juicing can help boost your immune system *Aids in digestion *It is a great
way to get your recommended daily servings of fruits and vegetables (plus
more) *Low in calories and often filling *High in antioxidants and certain
vitamins *Can be a great aperitif before a meal and possible help people to
eat smaller meals (If one is looking to do so) *Fun, tasty and healthy!!
A couple of juicing tips we find helpful:
*If you know you won’t have as much time one morning why not pre-cut 2 or 3
days worth of fruits and or vegetables and store in the fridge so they are
*Save the juice’s pulp and either compost it or use it in things like salads
and soup broths; certain veggies mixed with ginger are nice added to stir
fry’s as well.
*If you have a dehydrator, you can make great carrot wraps and carrot apple
scones, really there is no limit.

Using organic fruits and vegetables juice the following and enjoy!
3 large carrots
1 large red delicious apple ( cored, as the seeds should not be juiced due
to containing trace amounts of cyanide)
1 cup of broccoli
1/4 slice of ginger
